There's a saying, "Save your money and someday it will save you" which I think is very wise and true. Money represents freedom and control over one's life. When you have your own money, you decide where you're going to live and how you're going to live and what you will do with your life. It's ultimately the "American dream" - freedom. However saving takes self control, strategy, planning, and foresight.
Earlier this year I cut my cable TV, but kept my internet connection. It was a transformative and cost savings change that I'd recommend to all my family and friends. It's reflective of the current consumer market and what we want from our cable providers. If the cable providers won't give us what we ask for and desire, then we as consumers can custom pick our services that will reduce our costs, create our own bespoke TV, and send a message to the cable providers that we're taking back control of our wallets and our TV.
Technology is becoming so integrated into our everyday lives and that's a good thing! It can make our lives easier, more manageable, and provide services to us that were never even considered before as a possibility.
