Famous New York City Location: Hoyt-Schermerhorn Subway Station
Have you ever watched a movie or TV show and realize that scene is in your neighborhood or somewhere you’re very familiar with in the city? When it comes to city blocks, I surprise myself how much of a photographic memory I have and am packing away these little visual references across the city to later be recalled when I least expect it.
There are also some iconic moments in TV or film that we may wonder where it is, but really don’t want to exert that much energy to figure it out. So I’ll do it for you. Haha.
I though it would be fun to start a “Famous New York City Locations” series on this blog and feature a famous areas every now and then.
Here’s my inaugural Famous New York City Location…
Where: Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway station in Brooklyn
Who: Michael Jackson
What: Filmed his music video, Bad, which was an 18 minute short film that was influenced by West Side Story.
